Anna turned professional last April 2003 and has brought home over 60,000 USD of prize money. Winner of 5 ITF singles titles Anna will vie for the WTA Indian Open 2004 title with unforgiving zest. Reaching a career high singles ranking on the WTA tour of 116 Anna comes to Hyderabad ranked at 117 and seeded at 20.
Anna started the previous year with an ITF title at Hull and by September of 2003 her ranking had jumped a whopping 400 places from 555 to 121. Winner of the 2003 Juniors at Roland Garros, the German title cruncher is going to set the pace at the WTA Indian Open when she contends for the grand prize.
Having started tennis at age five, Anna is coached by Rafael Font de Mora, who also manages her as a professional tennis athelete. An avid fan of Steffi Graf, Anna also enjoys recreational basketball.
